When you volunteer at ValleyCon, you earn a free pass, meet amazing people, and help make this 51st-anniversary celebration unforgettable! Simply work a shift, and you’ll get to enjoy the rest of the convention as our thank you for helping.
Volunteer at ValleyCon: Perks, Roles and Rules
Where: Fargo Air Museum - 1609 19th Ave N, Fargo, ND 58102
When: October 23rd – October 25th
All you have to do is fill out the application and choose the shifts and departments where you’d like to volunteer.
Volunteer Perks
Free Entry to ValleyCon!
- Morning Shift (First Shift) – Enjoy the rest of the day for free!
- Afternoon Shift (Second Shift) – Free entry for the current or next day!**
- Evening/Night Shift (Third Shift) – Free entry for the current or next day!**
(2nd & 3rd shift volunteers can enjoy the convention before their shift if desired. Please keep a working cell phone with you so we can contact you as needed.)
Additional Perks:
- 50% discount on admission for a "plus one" (redeemable only on the day of your shift; must be present to redeem)
- Earn Con Cash for working a shift. Volunteers will receive $10 for each 4-hour shift worked (redeemable on the day of your shift).
- Exclusive ValleyCon T-Shirt (for those working 8+ hours)
Volunteer Roles
General Volunteers
- Assist with set-up, check-in, line control, and general convention support
- Great for those looking to help in multiple areas
Programming Team
- Help plan, schedule, and coordinate panels, workshops, and special events
- Assist guests and speakers before and during presentations
- Help with setting up panels and other events
Gaming Team
- Run board game rooms, tabletop RPGs, and video game tournaments
- Assist attendees with game setups and tournament organization
Security Team (Must be 18+)
- Ensure a safe and fun experience for all attendees
- Monitor event spaces, assist with line control, and respond to security concerns
Vendor & Exhibitor Team
- Help coordinate vendor hall setup and assist merchants
- Provide customer service and maintain vendor relations throughout the event
Rules For Volunteering
Age Requirements:
- Must be 16+ for general volunteer positions
- Must be 18+ for security positions
Assignments Based on Need:
- We will do our best to place you in your preferred area, but final assignments depend on the needs of the convention.
- If your preferred area is full, you may be assigned to another team upon check-in.
Children Under 14:
Volunteers with children under 14 must have another adult present to supervise their child during their shift.
