Meet Kelly Hu at ValleyCon 2026 in Fargo, October 23 to 25 at the Fargo Air Museum.
ValleyCon is excited to welcome actress and voice actor Kelly Hu, whose career spans blockbuster films, hit TV series, animation and video games.
Comic book fans know Kelly as Lady Deathstrike, the adamantium-clawed assassin who goes toe to toe with Wolverine in X2: X-Men United, and as China White on The CW’s Arrow. She also starred opposite Dwayne Johnson as the sorceress Cassandra in The Scorpion King.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Kelly became the first Asian American to win Miss Teen USA in 1985. She broke into Hollywood with guest roles on Growing Pains, 21 Jump Street and Night Court, made her film debut in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, and went on to play police officers Michelle Chan on Nash Bridges and Grace Chen on Martial Law.
TV fans also know her as the vampire Pearl on The Vampire Diaries and as Admiral Ozawa on Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville, and her credits include Hawaii Five-0, NCIS: Los Angeles, Army Wives and Warehouse 13.
Her voice work runs just as deep. Kelly voiced Cheshire in Young Justice, Karai in Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Stacy Hirano on Phineas and Ferb. Gamers know her as D’Vorah in Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11 and as Visas Marr in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II. With Andrew Bowen, the voice of Johnny Cage, also on the guest list, Mortal Kombat fans get two kombatants in one weekend.
