R2SF2 – Red River Science Fiction and Fantasy!
Red River Science Fiction and Fantasy Club (R2SF2) crawled out of the primordial ooze of fandom that began to escape from the cloisters of parent’s basements and out into the public arena during the 1970’s. The first incarnation came as a local convention organized by Rudy Sigmund, the ersatz owner of a local comic book and collectible store, the “Fantasy Collector”.
Held at North Dakota State University in the fall of 1976, it inspired the creation of the ValleyCon Association. The first official convention, Valley Con 1, was planned in a three-month time period by the initial members -notably Bruce Rudd and Dan Hillstrom. ValleyCon 1 was held in March of 1977 and was a success, gaining more members for the fledgling group and pushing forward with the planning for the next one.

Toys, Collectibles, Crafts & Curiosities Exposition
Unique vendors and some fun surprises for all!
Toys, collectibles of all kinds from vintage to modern, comic books, record albums, crafty items, assorted memorabilia and even diverse items like jewelry and other trinkets-not just all toys! Drawings will be held for door prizes each hour beginning for kids will keep the little ones busy and entertained! There will also be a collection box and silent auction with all proceeds going to Sanford Children’s Hospital via their Extralife campaign!

The Fargo Fantastic Film Festival is the film festival that celebrates film, video and other media in science fiction, fantasy, horror, adventure, thrillers and all other fun genres! It exists to showcase the ambitious and creative independent filmmaker. To make a good genre film takes real creativity, craftsmanship and yes, artistic merit. We show professional and amateur productions as both can learn from the other.
Fargo True Crime Expo
True crime aficionados as well as the fiction and mystery surrounding all crime!
In other words, true crime is an emphasis but we have room for things that intersect like paranormal investigations, literary and film/tv adaptations and inspirations and more. Vendors will be there but we are going to be protective of victim’s feelings so no merch infamous perpetrators will be allowed (so no Bundy t-shirts but something like Jack the Ripper is fine as it was a LOOONG time ago). We have several police and FBI professionals already on board and we’re looking at others including authors,podcasters, etc..
